Original Summary
I keep seeing SaaS teams talk about AI support as if the main win is fewer tickets hitting the team. That might be true, but I think there’s a second problem hiding underneath it. If AI handles the easy stuff, the humans may be left with the messiest cases: angry customers, weird edge cases, billing issues, refund exceptions, broken account context, or conversations where the customer already got frustrated with the bot. That can make the dashboard look better while the support team’s day gets worse. For me, the question is not just “how much did AI deflect?” It’s also: -what did it leave behind? -did the human get useful context? -did the customer have to repeat everything? -did the AI make any promises someone now has to clean up? -are agents spending less time helping, or more time untangling? Curious how other SaaS teams are seeing this. Is AI actually reducing support work, or just changing what kind of work humans are stuck with? submitted by /u/inktelContact [link] [comments]
