I'm based in Atlanta and made an iPhone app called ApproachMe. It's for the moment when someone nearby catches your attention, but you don't know whether they're open to a conversation. You choose when to be visible to nearby users, send a Wave, and connect if they accept. It's live and gets downloads here and there. The challenge now is getting enough people in the same place to use it together. I'm considering starting with one Atlanta social gathering and learning from that first group.
