Original Summary
https://reddit.com/link/1xb3w0z/video/20wha66rqowh1/player Every project I work on turns into a pile of windows. ComfyUI, Affinity Publisher, two Explorer windows, the PDF proof, a browser with the client's notes, and whatever I need right now is under three of them. I spend a silly amount of the day digging. So I built Warpstead, which lays the work out instead of stacking it. The programs you already use run as live windows on one big canvas, with the project's folders, files and notes next to them. I zoom out to see the whole job and then go to the corner I'm working in (windows you snap together travel as one). Besides your programs, the canvas has: - Search on Alt+Space. It finds files as you type, by name or tag, in the folders you choose, and photos by what you describe ("tent", "sunset over a lake"). It opens the result right on the canvas. - Folders linked to each other that pass files along (filter, classify, rename, move). You see a preview before anything moves, and you can undo after. - An AI model that tags and describes your images on your own computer. Nothing gets uploaded. - PDFs you merge and split by dragging pages from one to another, without sending them to some website. - A browser node that clips the parts of a page you want into the project folder. - Photo adjustments and notes, done in place. You can try it two ways. The preview at https://warpstead.com is the real interface running in your browser. The program windows and files in it are simulated, because there's no Windows inside a browser tab, but the canvas is the actual one: pan, zoom, move things around. And the beta is free for Windows 10 and 11 on the Microsoft Store: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9n5b32fwsmv5 The beta runs until November 30. By then early access opens with a one-time founder licence at €49 for two PCs, with 12 months of updates and in any case until 1.0, when the price goes to €79. Everyone who tried the beta keeps the founder price: you register your PC from the app, one click and your email. The terms are here: https://warpstead.com/beta On how it was made: I design for a living and don't write code myself, so Claude Code writes it. For six months my part has been deciding what it should do, testing every build on my own PC and sending back whatever broke. 1,546 commits so far, 523 of them fixes or reverts. If you open the preview, let me know if it made sense in the first few seconds or only after you'd read this post. I've stared at it too long to judge that anymore. submitted by /u/Future-Plastic7826 [link] [comments]
