My girlfriend and I cook a lot from TikTok and Instagram. The recipes ended up in saved folders and screenshots, and when it was time to cook we never found the one we wanted. So next to my job as a web developer I started building Plateful. What it does: Share a TikTok, Reel, YouTube video or recipe website to the app. It picks up what's said, shown or written in the caption and turns it into a recipe with ingredients and steps. Ask the AI to make a recipe vegan, spicier or lactose free. Every recipe gets nutrition per serving automatically. Drag recipes into a weekly planner. Invite your household. Recipes and the plan sync in real time. there's no shopping list yet. That's what I'm building next. It started as a web and Android app. This year I rebuilt the iPhone app from scratch in Swift, and it went live on the App Store last week. The part I'm least sure about: it's a subscription (one plan covers the whole household, the yearly plan has a 14-day free trial), and right now its pretty difficult for me to get people to start the free trial.
