Original Summary
For those who’ve launched a SaaS on their own, I’d love to hear how you approached the early stages. I’m building an educational SaaS and trying to figure out the simplest way to launch without creating unnecessary complexity from day one. My current plan is to focus on the US and Australia for paying customers, while keeping organic marketing global. I’m also looking at Paddle as a Merchant of Record to make payments and sales tax/VAT easier to manage. The part I’m still figuring out is how to approach international users and privacy regulations like GDPR without overcomplicating things before the product has traction. If you were starting today, would you make your product available worldwide from day one, or initially limit paying customers to a couple of markets? And if you use a Merchant of Record like Paddle, what responsibilities did you find you still had to handle yourself? I’m especially interested in hearing from founders who’ve actually gone through this. What did you do when you launched, and is there anything you wish you’d handled differently? Appreciate any real-world insights! submitted by /u/ahm_bd99 [link] [comments]
