Original Summary
I’m Michele, a solo dev from Italy. I wanted one place for all my recurring costs: subscriptions, utility bills, my car loan, the free trials I always forget to cancel. The apps I found had two problems. The good ones were subscriptions themselves (paying monthly to track monthly payments felt absurd), and most wanted my bank login. So I built SpendZen. How it works: Every recurring cost in one place, on a calendar Free trials as their own expense type, with a reminder the day before they convert A forecast of how much you’ll have left each month, 3/6/12 months ahead Price history, so you notice when a subscription quietly gets more expensive The trade-off I chose: you add expenses by hand. In exchange there’s no bank connection, no account, and the data stays encrypted on your iPhone. Pricing: free up to 7 expenses, Pro is $8.99 once. No subscription, which felt like the only honest option for this kind of app. v4.0 just shipped, the biggest update so far. I’d really like your take: would you make the same trade-off (manual entry vs. bank access)? And what would make you switch from a spreadsheet? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/spendzen-budget-expense/id6741732915 submitted by /u/MicheleN13 [link] [comments]
