Original Summary
My co-founder and I are part of the fall Sting cohort in Stockholm, they believe in our idea enough for us to join, which has been very fun. First few weeks have been great, the main message from Sting being that building is no longer what's hard, its sales and marketing (distribution). Building a CRM, we immediately stood out as one of the few teams who focused on sales and marketing. And people showed great interest in trying out our CRM and talk to us about it. So we gave everyone a year free of our CRM. A lot of thumbs ups and smiles, but no signups. Two weeks have now passed and we sit here with no usage. What I think is going on: Getting a CRM is very timing sensitive. We have too low trust? Or problem isnt experienced enough for new companies. (spreadsheet probably works fine for most) We described what it is (“MCP-native CRM”) instead of what changes in your week. For most founders the first version means nothing. Free still costs something. Moving your contacts, learning a new tool, a new process to build your company around. What i'm wondering and curious about is: Would you go for bigger organizations and face the problem of trust (us being a small early startup) Or go for early adopters, smaller startups just getting their first CRM, but then the perceived problem is smaller. For people here who’ve been through this: when you found the first users who really needed your product, where were they, and how did you notice? submitted by /u/Fnepf [link] [comments]
