Original Summary

Title: After 20+ years in IT, I decided to build the platform I always wished existed. Here's what I've been working on. I've been working in IT for over 20 years. I started building computers as a kid, got my first IT job at 15, and eventually worked my way through systems administration, infrastructure management, enterprise architecture, Citrix, VMware, and Azure. For much of my career, I've been dealing with the same problem: managing IT infrastructure requires way too many disconnected tools. You have one platform for remote monitoring, another for helpdesk tickets, another for documentation, another for Azure Virtual Desktop, and several more for Microsoft 365, security, and automation. Every platform has its own licensing model, interface, integrations, and learning curve. Eventually, I started wondering what it would look like if these capabilities were designed together from the beginning. So I started building Atlas AVD . What started as an Azure Virtual Desktop management tool has grown into an entire IT operations platform. The project has expanded quite a bit beyond its original scope. Here's what I've built so far: Azure Virtual Desktop management Host pool provisioning, golden image management, scaling, automation, FSLogix management, and configuration controls. I've also been working on features like Adaptive Density and Adaptive Quota to help optimize Azure resources. Atlas Reach — Remote monitoring and management Endpoint inventory, remote access, software deployment, patch management, scripts, services, processes, certificate management, and device monitoring. Atlas Flow — Helpdesk and project management Ticket management, SLAs, project tracking, technician workflows, and time tracking. The idea is to eliminate the need for a separate PSA or ticketing platform for many everyday operations. Atlas Advisor — AI-assisted IT administration An AI assistant that can help administrators understand their environments and work through operational tasks, with authorization controls and safeguards around sensitive actions. Microsoft 365 and Entra ID management Centralized administration for identities, licenses, Conditional Access, and other Microsoft cloud services. Atlas Vault — Documentation Integrated IT documentation, configuration history, and operational records. Atlas Feed — Free Microsoft update intelligence This one is publicly available for free. It monitors 45 Microsoft sources, checks for updates every two hours, and helps administrators understand what changed, what it impacts, and what actions may be needed. Some of the biggest technical challenges Building the individual features has been only part of the work. One of the harder architectural decisions was designing Atlas AVD around customer tenant boundaries. I wanted to avoid building another management platform that unnecessarily pulls customer infrastructure data into a centralized third-party environment. I've also spent considerable tim
