Original Summary

Well, then I needed somewhere to run it when my Mac was asleep. Then a scheduler. Then support for multiple coding agents and subscriptions. Then MCPs. Then API keys. Then... you get the idea. Anyway, a perfectly normal amount of scope creep later, I think I understand how something like OpenClaw came to exist. My version went a slightly different direction. Basically, just let the agents own everything. The agents ARE the operating system. Need something built? Ask an agent. Need something changed? Same answer. Called it Springroll. Free, open source, self-hosted. Runs Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and a few others on a Linux box. I still haven't decided if this was a productive use of my time. Actually, I'm sure it wasn't. https://tryspringroll.com submitted by /u/stumptowndoug [link] [comments]
