Original Summary
I swear, r/SaaS has developed a new type of unemployment. The full-time SaaS doomposter. I've been scrolling this subreddit all week and apparently SaaS is dead, AI wrappers are worthless, and nobody will pay for software anymore because everyone can vibe code now. Every day there's a new guy who discovered Claude Code last Tuesday, spent his weekend cloning Canva, open-sourced it, and now thinks he did humanity a favor. Congratulations, brother. You saved the world. Who's going to tell him there are already dozens of open-source Canva alternatives? And guess what? PEOPLE ARE STILL PAYING FOR CANVA. Including me. A technical guy who could probably figure out how to build or self-host an alternative. But apparently the guy with 14 GitHub repos, 17 stars, and zero customers understands the software industry better than everyone else. Let's look at how these "worthless AI wrappers" are doing: Higgsfield: "Just AI models with a UI." → 20x annualized revenue run-rate growth in a year. $1 BILLION annualized run rate. Contracted business revenue up 10x since June. HeyGen: "Just AI avatars, bro." → 2x ARR in 8 months. $200 MILLION ARR. ElevenLabs: "Just text-to-speech. Open source can do that." → $500M+ ARR. Valuation DOUBLED to $22 BILLION in seven months. Salesforce Agentforce: "AI agents will kill SaaS." → Agentforce premium-edition bookings MORE THAN DOUBLED QoQ. $1.5B+ reported ARR . But apparently none of these companies got the memo that SaaS is dead. And the funniest argument I keep seeing is: "Why would I pay when I can just build it myself?" Seriously? EVERYONE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A PIZZA. Flour. Cheese. Tomatoes. Water. There are millions of free recipes online. So why does Domino's still exist? Because I don't want to spend three hours making dough, cleaning my kitchen, and ending up with something that tastes like cardboard. I want pizza. I pay. I eat. SAME THING WITH SOFTWARE. Here's a personal example. I PAY FOR ADOBE. AND I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE THINKS. Yes, I know there are free alternatives. Yes, I know some guy open-sourced an Adobe replacement. But you're seriously telling me to abandon YEARS of experience, muscle memory, established workflows, integrations, reliability, and support... To spend weeks learning some free copycat that might not even do everything I need? Just to save a subscription? NO THANKS. I'll happily pay my expensive yearly Adobe subscription and get back to doing actual work. My time isn't free just because your GitHub repository is. And now let's talk about the biggest delusion in this subreddit. The people who genuinely believe: "Claude, clone this SaaS, deploy it, and make me a plan to reach $100K MRR." That's adorable. You think launching a SaaS is just prompting Claude until a dashboard appears? AND BEFORE SOMEONE SAYS WE'RE JUST SCARED OF AI: WE USE AGENTS TOO. I'm working with a t
