Original Summary
BarDeck is a slim button bar that floats on your Mac screen without taking focus. It started as a replacement for a dock-style launcher I found clumsy, and grew into a Touch Bar-style tool: - One-click buttons for folders, apps, websites and Shortcuts - Buttons that press key combinations or paste text - Stacks that fly out, and folder buttons you can browse inside - Extra buttons that appear only for the app in front (Mail, Safari, Final Cut Pro…), with ready-made sets for a handful of apps - Volume and brightness sliders, media buttons and an emoji picker Pricing: * £9.99 one-off, with a 14-day free trial and no account. A licence covers every 1.x update. Nothing is collected: no analytics, no tracking. Link: https://stevendevmosaic.github.io/bardeck/ It's just launched, so I'd love feedback, especially on which buttons or app sets you'd want. Happy to answer questions about any part of building or selling it. It's not a physical Touch Bar, and it uses a bit of screen space (there's auto-hide), but it covers the part I missed most: context-aware buttons that are always in reach. Happy to go into detail on any of it: the sandbox testing, notarisation, offline licence keys, or how the per-app button sets work. What would you want it to do that it doesn't? submitted by /u/Cute_Swordfish_9218 [link] [comments]
