Original Summary

i kept losing my place halfway through recording. eyes down at the script, look up at the lens, lose the sentence, redo the take. normal teleprompters scroll at a fixed speed so you end up chasing them. so i built one that listens instead. goscript, solo, about four months. it highlights each word as you say it. pause and it waits, drop a word and it recovers. names get a special case: anything not in a ~9,600 word common english list is treated as a name, because the speech api cant reliably hear something like "Casper", so it accepts the next sound as that word and moves on. it records from the same screen too. plain html/css/js, cloudflare workers, supabase for auth, web speech api for the listening, ffmpeg.wasm for export. no framework. you can try it without an account or a card. saving scripts and exporting need a login. the free side is meant to be properly usable, not a demo. still rough: if you paraphrase instead of reading, it loses you, and a bad laptop mic drops way more words than a phone does. feedback welcome, especially if the tracking breaks on your accent or your mic. link in comments submitted by /u/EOJHA10 [link] [comments]
