Original Summary
Hi r/SideProject . I'm Philip, a filmmaker and VFX creator in Bangkok. I've been building Motion Pictures Scope , a native desktop app (Mac first, then Windows) for film pre-production. The problem: on an indie shoot, the script, breakdown, shot list, storyboard, budget and call sheet usually live in five different files. Change one scene and you're updating all of them by hand. What it does (first version): Import your script → first-draft breakdown (cast, props, locations, wardrobe) that you review and accept Shot lists with size, lens and movement Storyboards and moodboards attached to scenes Budgets built from the breakdown Printable call sheets per shoot day Cast & crew lists Everything linked: rename a character once and it updates everywhere Your project lives on your computer and works offline (except AI steps) Status: not released yet. Waitlist is open at https://motionpicturescope.com What I'd love feedback on: Does the landing page explain it clearly in 10 seconds? Desktop app vs. browser – does "your data stays on your machine" matter to you? Anything that feels confusing or hypey? I'm building it with Claude as an AI coding partner, which has been an adventure on its own. Happy to talk about the stack too. submitted by /u/ZealousidealTea6547 [link] [comments]
