Original Summary
I've been working on a small web app called sub-pic. You paste a link to a Reddit post and get a clean image of it that you can put straight into TikTok, Instagram or Shorts, so you don't have to screenshot it and crop it on your phone. You can pick which comments show up, switch between light and dark, choose square, 4:5 or 9:16, and hide all the usernames with one click. It only works from real links and you can't change the text or the votes. I didn't want it to turn into a fake post generator. Demo is here: www.subpic.net The problem is I'm stuck. To load real posts I need Reddit to approve me for their API, and I don't want to just scrape it. So for now the demo only runs on a few sample posts I made, and I can't really go further until they say yes. Where I could use some help: - does the output look good enough that you'd actually post it? - if you make content from Reddit posts, would this save you time or not really? - has anyone here gone through Reddit's API approval? how long did it take and what do you wish you'd known? If you want to know when real links work, there's a waitlist on the demo page. Honest feedback is welcome, even if it's "I'd never use this". submitted by /u/Nice-Carpet5269 [link] [comments]
