Original Summary

Say a paying customer’s app stops working. They host it themselves, and the problem turns out to be something they changed in their setup. From their side, they paid for your product and it isn’t working. I can understand why they’d come to you. What I’d struggle with is knowing when to stop helping. You might need to spend hours investigating before you can even explain why it’s their setup. By then, you’ve already done a fair amount of the work. I wouldn’t want to leave them stuck, but I also wouldn’t want every ticket to become our engineering team fixing someone else’s environment. If you offer self-hosting options, how do you navigate this conversation? submitted by /u/navigatethefirewall [link] [comments]
