Original Summary
I kept going back to places and thinking "what was the good one last time?" Notes apps never stuck because writing things down at dinner is annoying. So I built PlateDiary. You snap one photo of the table, and on-device ML cuts out every dish and drink as its own little save. Saves from the same place and hour group themselves into a "moment", and everything pins to a map. Things I cared about: - The whole capture takes ~3 seconds. Every field (name, rating, note, who you were with) is optional. - Works offline. No account, no sign-in, your photos stay on your phone. - No counting or numbers in your face — it's about remembering, not measuring. Free on iOS and Android, with an optional Premium for the creative extras (share studio, collections, widgets). iOS: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6787356977 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.platediary.app Would love blunt feedback on the first-run experience — that's the part I've rewritten the most. submitted by /u/skylarknexus [link] [comments]
