I’m building a place to lock in your shower thoughts, and maybe one day get them in front of companies. Would you use it? The idea is based on the fact everyone’s had a “wait, that’s actually a good idea” moment in the shower, then done nothing with it. Usually because you don’t know if it already exists, don’t know who’d want it, or you’re scared someone will steal it if you say it out loud. I’m working on an idea called IdeaVault (ironic i know) to fix that. Here’s how it would work in my eyes so far: For people with ideas: Type your idea in however it comes to you, messy is fine. It instantly shows you what’s already out there: similar patents, products, research. No scores or grades, just “here’s what exists, here’s who might want this, here’s what to think about next.” Your idea gets saved privately with a timestamp, so you have a dated record of when you had it. You choose: keep it private, or post it to a public feed (there’d be a section for just-for-fun thoughts too). Later, for companies: Companies and investors could browse ideas that people choose to list. They’d only see a short summary of the problem it solves, not how it works. To see the full idea, they’d go through a proper access process (NDA-style agreement), and you’d see exactly who looked at it. If a company wants to license or buy it, the deal happens through the platform. So far I’ve built a working demo of the first part: typing an idea, getting the snapshot, the wallet, and the post-or-keep-private choice. The company side is just a concept for now. Honest feedback wanted: Would you actually use this? What would stop you? Would you trust a site like this with an idea you thought was genuinely good? Is the “what’s already out there” snapshot useful, or would you rather just have a place to store ideas? Anyone who works in R&D or investing: would you ever browse something like this, or is it a non-starter? Happy to share screenshots if anyone’s curious.
