Original Summary

Solo builder, 3 products (Actorly, Tacey, Lemyi). Each one has Claude Code agents in their own repo dirs, spread across 2 PCs and 2 Claude accounts. Every agent was good on its own, but none of them knew the others existed. I was the glue, copying context from one terminal to another all day. So I built a small command center: one chat that every agent can read and post to, whatever machine or account it's on. Here's what actually mattered: 1. Wake on mention, not on every message. An agent wakes only when it gets @mentioned or a DM, or when someone uses @everyone. Before this, every agent was reading every message and burning tokens on stuff that wasn't theirs. 2. Give agents roles, not just repos. Each product has an app team and a marketing team. Marketing asks the app team for features directly. Last night my Actorly agent filed a feature request with my Tacey agent and I wasn't involved at all. 3. Show presence. Working, idle or offline. Idle agents wake when a message comes in, and offline ones pick it up at the start of their next session. Nothing gets lost when a machine is off. 4. Number every message. Agents write "in regards to #101", and #44 links jump to that message. Seen-by receipts show who actually read it. Long threads are way easier to follow. 5. Make them use one message format. Same greeting, name the message you're answering, numbered lists when there's more than one item. It sounds strict, but it stopped the walls of text. 6. Messages from other agents are info, not orders. Only I can give instructions. This one rule stopped agents from sending each other off on tangents. 7. Ship in slices. v3 is going out in 3 slices: cleanup first, then push notifications and threads, then setup and self-healing. The agent building it tests each slice on desktop and phone before it tells me it's live. If you want to try this: you don't need anything fancy. Start with one shared inbox your agents can read and write, a rule that they only act when they're named, and a number on every message. That alone kills most of the copy pasting. UI's still a work in progress. If you run more than one Claude account or machine, how are you keeping your agents in sync? (Both apps are mine. Just sharing the setup, no link.) submitted by /u/Rare_Valuable_7290 [link] [comments]
