Original Summary
I couldn't stay focused for a long time. I'd sit down to work and within minutes I was reaching for my phone. What helped was reading Cal Newport and Andrew Huberman on focus, then planning my days that way: hard work first, shallow stuff later, real breaks in between. I felt calmer about how I was working, and more disciplined than I'd been in years. The part I kept failing at was the planning itself. Sitting down every evening to work out tomorrow took effort, and on the days I skipped it, the old habits came back. So I built Deep Focus Planner to remove that step. You dump your tasks, it sorts them by how much focus they need, and it builds tomorrow around your real Google Calendar. The hardest work goes in your peak window (roughly 2-4h after you wake), in ~90-minute blocks with breaks, and shallow work fills the rest. Then you run the day in the app and log what actually happened. It's based on ideas popularised by Newport and Huberman. They have nothing to do with it. The free plan covers a normal day (5 generations a day, 10 active tasks). There's a paid Pro tier (€12/mo) for the Focus Companion and analytics. What I'd most like feedback on: does the day it builds feel right, and does it make planning tomorrow easier for you too? Solo dev, stack is React + FastAPI + Firestore, happy to answer anything. https://deepfocusplanner.app/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=r_sideproject submitted by /u/NecunoscutulAutor [link] [comments]
