Original Summary
Hey — I've been building Auddio, a free audiobook & podcast player for iOS, and it's finally ready for wider testing. The idea: Audiobookshelf on your device with no server needed. The app architecture is addon-based, inspired by Stremio — you connect your own sources. For audiobooks you get synchronized live transcripts and instant resume, and you can import your own books too, including syncing your library from Hardcover via their API. Podcasts are built in as well. Completely free — no premium tier, no ads. What I want you to test (be brutal — "looks nice" doesn't help me): Live transcripts — do they stay in sync when you skip chapters or change playback speed? First-run onboarding — did you get lost anywhere in the first 2 minutes? Adding your first book or podcast — where does it get confusing? Bluetooth and car playback — chapter skip, lock screen controls, CarPlay if you have it. Anything that crashed, froze, or felt slow — device and iOS version helps a ton. Don't worry about being nice. If something is confusing, ugly, slow, or just doesn't make sense, I want to know. TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/Kd8K6WEs If the link acts up, drop your Apple ID email and I'll add you directly. Report a real bug → founding-tester credit in the app. Longer discussions welcome on our Discord: https://discord.gg/qBf834GjD5 submitted by /u/ketanchoyal [link] [comments]
