Original Summary
Hi everyone, solo dev here. This is ContextCat, and I'd really like some honest eyes on it. The idea came from a simple frustration: reading real things is the best way to learn a language, but stopping to look up every other word kills it. So you open an article or your own PDF, tap a word you don't know, and it explains what it means in that exact sentence, in your own language. Not a list of five dictionary meanings. What else it does: New articles every morning, so there's always something to read Open a PDF, a web link or some pasted text, or share straight from Safari Keeps the words you tapped and turns them into review cards Reads books and PDFs aloud, and can quiz you on what you just read Explanations in 39 languages It's on iPhone and iPad, free with a daily limit. The explanations are AI-generated, so if you spot a wrong one, telling me is honestly the most useful thing you could do. The honest part: people download it, read one article, and most of them don't come back. If you give it a few minutes, I'd love to know what made you close it, or what would make you open it again tomorrow. https://apps.apple.com/app/id6737737343 submitted by /u/normativecoder [link] [comments]
