Original Summary

I’m building in this space at Dreamtune Labs, and I’m questioning how much “fewer accounts and one balance” actually matters. For people building SaaS products with model APIs plus tools like search, scraping or compute: do you prefer keeping separate provider accounts, or putting them behind a shared platform? It sounds convenient during prototyping. But once something is in production, there are other questions: can you trace the cost of a completed job, keep provider-specific features, debug failures, and move away without rewriting everything? My current view is that combining the bills only helps if you can still understand the individual charges and keep control over the underlying services. If you’ve tried both approaches, what made you consolidate or return to direct APIs? I’d especially like to hear cases where the extra layer created more work than it saved. submitted by /u/Pitiful-Minute-2818 [link] [comments]
