Original Summary
One More Crypt is a small browser roguelite with a Wordle-style twist. Every day there's one new crypt, the same for everyone, and you get a single attempt. You bump into enemies to fight, pick a relic after each floor, and face a boss every 5 floors. When you die, you get a shareable result strip. There's also an Endless mode with no limit. 👉 https://onemorecrypt.com (free, works on phone and desktop, no sign-up needed to play) How I built it Built in a few days with Claude Code. I describe what I want, play it, and give feedback, and it writes the code. Plain TypeScript and canvas, no game engine. Hosted free on GitHub Pages. Supabase for leaderboards and accounts. Every run is saved as a list of inputs, so the server can replay any run and check the score is real. That also let me pull the top run and turn it into a highlight video. Where it's at About 115 visitors and 50 players since I started tracking 169 runs on the leaderboards, from 46 players with names Endless record: floor 228. I didn't think anyone would pass 50. What I learned from early players Players couldn't tell how to wait a turn. Adding a Wait button and a hint fixed it. 64% of runs ended by floor 5. I softened the first floors and the first boss. One player went past floor 100 and told me the late game got boring and the relics ran out. That's what I'm working on next. Only about half of daily players tried Endless afterward. I just made it much more visible after the daily. What I'd love feedback on Is the "one try a day" rule motivating, or does it just feel harsh? What made you stop playing? Would you come back tomorrow for the next crypt? Happy to answer questions about the build, the replay system, or what building with AI was like. submitted by /u/MeatballJunkie [link] [comments]
