Original Summary
I work as a consultant in deeptech and sustainability. On the sustainability side I was losing too much time working my way through all the existing standards and remain update, so I started building a tool for myself. Partway through I decided to make it public, and here we are. Climastic is a compass for finding your way through ESG standards. You give it a country, a sector and a commodity. It returns the standards, frameworks and regulations that apply, along with how they connect to each other. For example: this national law transposes that EU directive, and that directive points to this reporting standard. There’s also a Monitor that tracks about 230 official sources and flags what changes. A company, consultant or ESG researcher can see which frameworks concern its sector, geography and supply chain, without reading every regulation from scratch. It also highlights overlaps and differences between frameworks, so teams can avoid duplicated work and understand where one disclosure may satisfy several requirements. For supply chains, it identifies potential obligations linked to origin and destination countries, commodities and specific regulatory mechanisms. For green claims, it helps assess whether environmental statements are supported by the relevant rules and evidence requirements. The database is still growing. Right now it holds about 3,000 standards, classified by country, sector and commodity. Some countries are covered in depth and others only have a few entries, and the site shows which is which. Everything is curated by hand but I built the platform with Claude Code. https://climastic.com/en submitted by /u/SeaPerception1145 [link] [comments]
