Original Summary
Recently I was looking around on TrustMRR . I follow the creator Marc Lou so naturally I found out about the website and wanted to know what it is for myself. I checked out the leaderboard and clicked my way through a few SaaS's when I noticed something. There were highlight banners of a handful of SaaS's on the left and right side of the website. On the bottom right was one empty slot with a subtle "Advertise 2/20 spots left". This is when I understood that he sells ad slots on TrustMRR. This may seem dumb to some of you but for me this was a brand new concept. Until that point in my head the only way to monetize a free website was through Google's AdSense. I found it quite ingenious that Marc Lou just sold the Ad spots himself. This made so much more sense for TrustMRR. The product is clearly defined. Logo, name, short description and background color is what you get in a spot and you just pay a fixed monthly rate. No hassle of getting approved with AdSense. No being payed according to visitors and maybe the most important aspect - no ugly and irrelevant ad banners on your website. I started thinking about how I could use this strategy on my own websites and then the idea for SponsorZone stuck me. It is basically a marketplace for TrustMRR style ad slots. You create a slot and place an embed code on your website. While unbooked it displays a CTA which leads to a storefront for your slot. This is where buyers can upload and offer with their creative. If you approve a creative you like the unbooked placeholder changes to display the creative and after displaying the ad you get paid. submitted by /u/freedomchaserr [link] [comments]
