Original Summary
I’ve been building Duefolio, a privacy-first iPhone app for tracking subscriptions without connecting your bank account or handing over financial data. The idea was pretty simple: I wanted subscription tracking to feel more like keeping a personal financial ledger than giving another service access to your accounts. So everything is designed around manually tracking what you actually care about, with the data staying on your device. A few weeks after launching, Duefolio was featured by both MacStories and Lifehacker. That resulted in the first real spike in downloads and was a pretty surreal moment after building and shipping the whole thing independently. It’s still a small side project, but seeing something I made alone start reaching people outside the usual indie developer bubble has been one of the most encouraging moments since launching it.
