Original Summary
Hi HN, I built The Brains: founders and investors turned into MCP servers you can add to Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or Codex. Paul Graham's is the one I use most. Ask "what would PG say about this idea?" and your agent searches his essays, talks and posts, and every passage comes back with a link to its source.
It's deliberately not an archive of everything someone said. Each brain is 15 to 45 curated long-form sources plus a few hundred hand-picked posts. PG's has 45 essays and talks, 370 posts and 11 hours of transcripts. Claude picks the shortlist, writes one card per source with verbatim quotes, then sectioned notes. Search is plain BM25 over those notes, no vectors. The first 10 brains cost about $3.50 in scraping fees.
Try it:

claude mcp add --transport http pg-brain https://mcp.brains.ceo/paul-graham/mcp

The hosted version asks for an email code on first connect. If you'd rather skip that, clone the repo and run npm start. Everything works locally with no sign-in.
There are 18 brains so far (Naval, Pieter Levels, Sam Altman, Hormozi and others). They're unofficial and not endorsed by the people they're built from, unless marked as claimed. The repo has no raw essays or transcripts, only derived notes that link back to the originals.
MIT licensed. I'd love feedback on retrieval quality and on who to add next.
