Original Summary
So hi everyone, I've been working the last few months to build an app centered upon women safety. Well, why this idea? Recently one of my own close friends was subjected towards the growing crime rate against women which triggered me and that drove me towards making this app. The app has 3 stages of detection, normal/moderate/critical. This is how the model decides how things are expected to behave: - Normal: People around, nothing unusual - Moderate: Someone has been behind / near you for a while, trying to close fast. - Critical: The AI confirms a threat, a grab or push is detected/a scream is heard/or you hit SoS manually. Upon critical auto/manual detects, the app requests for the user's permission for sending alert messages to personal contacts. For critical detects, the app sends the frames to Gemini for verification and checks whether it's a valid threat. To handle false alarms, critical popups only take shape when a minimum of 2 signals line up (following and closing in)... I'm a game developer, so I've made this app on Unity with Sentis running YOLO model on the device... Frontend: Unity - Sentis - C# Backend: Python (FastAPI, MediaPipe, Supabase) If you're someone who is interested to try the app, on a public platform. You can join the waitlist: sakshiai dot tech (can't post links officially here) The first model is expected to be released to its users within the next 2-3 days.... If you're someone who knows/runs a hostel, PG or an office... I would love to give the pilot to the residents for testing. Do share your honest thoughts so we can do our best in improving it. submitted by /u/RoutineAd6853 [link] [comments]
