Original Summary
Disclosure: I help the team behind TextDocket. We just launched it on the Mac App Store. The problem we tried to solve: when someone needs to share a long text conversation with a lawyer or mediator, screenshots and a basic printout are hard to navigate. TextDocket reads the messages already synced to your Mac and makes a PDF with sender details and exact timestamps on each message, page and Bates numbers, plus a CSV index and copies of attachments. It works offline and doesn't upload conversations. The important limit: it can't recover deleted messages or pull an iPhone backup. Whether an export is accepted as evidence depends on the court and case. It's free to download and preview/export the first 50 messages with a watermark. Complete exports cost $14.99 once in the US, with no subscription. macOS 14 or later. Details and a sample export: https://textdocket.app/ If you've had to prepare a message thread for someone else to review, which part of the export would you want to verify first? submitted by /u/Similar_Interview225 [link] [comments]
