Original Summary

Okay, so I bought a roughly €46 building-block robot and tried to get GPT-6.1 SOL to control its motor brick through a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, without the phone app. The agent found an unofficial iM.Master Python SDK. 21 tests passed. All nine packet variants matched the SDK. Nothing moved. First attempt: I had left the robot switched off. Very professional. Switched it on, tried again. Still nothing. The useful part was capturing the actual phone app's BLE traffic with btmon. It was sending 128-bit service-UUID advertisements, while the SDK generated manufacturer payloads. The app also sends neutral continuously; it doesn't just send forward once and disappear. Our Linux advertising interval was initially 1.28 seconds. Setting it to 30 ms wasn't enough on its own. After restarting the robot, replaying initialization and holding neutral for about four seconds, a separate forward/STOP phase finally worked. We changed several things, so I can't honestly credit one magic fix. Then we ran two seconds forward, two seconds turning, two seconds forward. That worked too. “Forward” spins because one wheel has a tyre and the other is a bare rim. Of course it does. Current scope: coarse movement from fixed commands. The Pi and camera are still on the desk. Mounting them and closing the camera/agent feedback loop are next. I put the failed attempts and the working sequence into this short episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzO6bjSUJIE SDK we started from (MIT): https://github.com/2alf/iM.Master-SDK submitted by /u/No_Quail6685 [link] [comments]
