Original Summary
You’re reading a book and a sentence makes you stop. Who is this annoying girl again? It would be great to refresh your memory without any spoilers. And maybe also discuss or recall the plot again since you didnt pick this book for a week or two. Hello everyone! I spent last months in a cave building Ink, a book companion that just works without marketing AI fluff. And it works in a browser so i can use it on my BOOX, on mobile in crowded transit, and on my desktop from time to time. I chose Elixir and Phoenix because I love OTP/Liveview and now I have to run a chunky RAM server to fit millions of my imaginary visitors (maybe someday mate!). But honestly, I still love it. It uses sliding window with compaction to keep up with the longest books, extracts character, locations, tools and concepts, writes summaries and all that without spoiling your experience. Without those guardrails, AI loves to ramble about future plot, especially for popular books. I baked in the guardrails for the training data knowledge, and only feed it the chapter you have read. There is also a dormant second layer of spoiler defence system, but I found I dont really need it with the current setup of attention window and guardrails. Take an EPUB, PDF or FB2, upload it to the library and start Reading, tell me later how it went. Don't forget to discuss with or catch up companion on your progress after finishing a chapter or two. Need a first book? Project Gutenberg and Standard Ebooks offer classics that are free of copyright restrictions. There is also a buildin manual if you enjoy reading some AI prose. I created 30 open beta seats specifically for r/SideProject and use sane rate limits. Let me know how the discuss and explore feels and if UI/UX works for you, dont forget to configure layout and font by opening "Aa" display settings. Have fun! submitted by /u/aparamonov [link] [comments]
