Original Summary
Hey everyone, wanted to share a Chrome extension I've been working on called DocuMotion. I built it because recording a clean, smooth scroll of a webpage or PDF with standard screen recorders is surprisingly annoying—mouse wheels scroll in steps, sticky headers glitch out, and cropping to 9:16 or 1:1 afterward takes extra editing time. How it works: Click the extension on any tab (or drop in a local PDF). It captures the full page in high-res tiles (or you can use Live Mode for sites with scroll-linked JS animations). It opens a local editor tab where you control scroll speed, easing curves, camera X/Y + zoom keyframes, pauses, and browser framing/backgrounds. Auto-camera button scans the page headings/landmarks and builds a keyframe path for you in one click if you don't want to keyframe by hand. Renders and downloads WebM, MP4, or GIF directly in the browser. A few details for fellow extension devs: - Built on Manifest V3 using an offscreen document for rendering and IndexedDB for storing page tiles locally. - Zero server-side rendering—everything stays on the user's machine. - Free tier covers full-page capture, landscape HD scrolling, preview, and WebM exports with no sign-up wall.
