Hey, I’m Camren. I’ve been building Minko for the past few months, mostly by myself. It’s named after my husky. Felt right since she has strong opinions about everything and so do most of the people I know about where to eat. I actually started this as a broader travel journal app, somewhere to log restaurants, hotels, hikes, whatever. But once I got about 20 people testing it, almost everyone used it for one thing: rating restaurants and checking what their friends liked. So that’s what it is now. You rate every place you’ve eaten on a simple S to F scale, and you can see your friends’ rankings instead of digging through a group chat or trusting a stranger’s Yelp review. It’s live on iOS and free (you don't need to add to your growing list of monthly subscriptions). I’d genuinely like more people kicking it around, especially if you eat out a lot and have opinions about it. Would love feedback from people that have built something on their own.
