Original Summary
44Net is a block of ~12M globally routable IPv4 addresses allocated for amateur radio experimentation. They are free to use for non-commercial purposes.
44Net Connect provides licensed amateur radio operators with a static 44Net IPv4 address through a WireGuard connection. It works behind CGNAT and can work on routers, including NETGEAR, TP-Link, Ubiquiti, and modern devices, including desktops, mobile devices, Raspberry Pis, and other devices that support a WireGuard client.
Since its launch in December 2025, 44Net Connect has grown to more than 2,200 users. We’re also expanding our infrastructure by adding three new points of presence (PoPs) in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Sydney, bringing the total to six.
Amateur radio operators are using 44Net Connect for everything from personal tinkering to club infrastructure, education, and emergency communications.
To get started, you’ll need a verified amateur radio call sign on the 44Net Portal: https://portal.ampr.org/. From there, you can sign up for 44Net Connect here: https://connect.44net.cloud.
More information about 44Net Connect and how it works can be found in our introductory blog post: https://www.ardc.net/introducing-44net-connect-a-simpler-way-to-access-44net/.
