Original Summary

I kept wishing the previous owners of my house had left a better record of what they’d done. What had been fixed, what paint they used, when something was replaced, that kind of thing. Then I realized sometimes I’m the “previous owner” someone else is trying to figure out, lol. Even while I’m living here, “I’ll remember what I did” has a pretty short shelf life. So I’ve been building HomeDoc. It gives you a place to keep photos, notes, paint colors, appliance details, repairs, and maintenance tasks together, organized by house and room. I wanted somewhere to put all the details that otherwise end up scattered across my camera roll, random receipts, and paint cans in the garage. I’m opening up the web beta, and it’s free to try: https://homedocumentation.com I’d love feedback from anyone who owns a home or has a project they’re working on. Try adding one room and a note or photo. Does getting started make sense? Can you find what you saved? What would you want to keep track of that I’m missing? I’m happy to hear what’s confusing or broken too. That’s why I’m sharing it here. submitted by /u/Coalfocks [link] [comments]
