I built a family app where kids earn their screen time by doing quests (free to try, no card needed)

Original Summary
I'm not a parent myself, but the parents around me kept telling me the same story: the nightly screen time negotiation with their kids. It seemed to me the fix was making screen time something kids earn, not something parents have to police. So I built the app I wish they had. It's called KefiFam. How it works: - A parent gives their kid a quest (clean the room, homework) - The kid does it, and the parent approves with one tap - Kefi Points land and turn into screen time, and apps unlock on their own How it's different from other parent apps: - Say it, and AI writes the quest. Tap the mic, say "clean your room before dinner, 30 points," and it fills in the title, points and date. - Most apps either restrict screen time or reward chores. KefiFam connects the two, so points are tied to real per-kid rules and schedules, not just a checklist. - It's built for kids 8 to 12: missions (like saving up for a bike) and badges, so it feels like progress and not a chore list. - There's an anonymous parent community inside the app, so parents can swap tips. It's iOS only for now App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/kefifam/id6761587487 Honest feedback would help a lot: is the first-time setup clear, would parents trust it, and what's missing? Since I'm not a parent, I especially want to hear from people who are. submitted by /u/Thunderstrom27 [link] [comments]
