Original Summary

Two years ago, I was working full-time and trying to land a new SDE role. I had a list of companies I wanted to join, but the repetitive work took forever and drained my energy. Finding an open role was the easy part: log into LinkedIn or Indeed and you’ll find one. But by the time I saw a posting, it had often been up for hours, sometimes days. When I finally applied, I was already behind hundreds of other candidates. Then there was the resume tailoring. For every role, I’d read the job description two or three times, tailor my resume, then fill out yet another application form. Before I got anywhere near interview prep, I was already burned out. All that repetitive work made me stop and think: as a developer, what could I do about it? Not just the repeated searching and being late, but also filling out the same kinds of application forms over and over. Every company has its own careers page, but most of those pages run on the same few application systems. If I could build something that monitored those pages and filled in the forms, applying to new positions would get a lot easier, for me and for other people too. So my friends and I started working on a new tool. AI two years ago wasn’t as good as it is today, but it was good enough for us to build a prototype and keep polishing it. That tool is JobRadar. Today, we watch 5,000+ company careers pages and alert you when a role matching what you’re looking for goes up, so you can apply while the posting is still fresh. We also built a Chrome extension that fills in the details you’d otherwise retype on every form, and drafts answers to open-ended questions from your resume. You review everything and submit it yourself. To make the extension work across thousands of companies, we didn’t have to build for thousands of different forms. Greenhouse, Ashby and Workday alone cover about three quarters of the companies we monitor, so we built for each system specifically instead of relying on a general-purpose AI agent. One funny thing I found while testing other tools: when I tried applying with them, even the newly released Meta Muse, they got tripped up by hidden fields meant to catch bots and picked the wrong options in dropdown menus. So we found ways around these issues, and our extension handles these forms without you having to fix every field by hand. JobRadar is free to use right now.
