Two years after starting the prototype, I finally launched my Cover Flow inspired music trivia game

Original Summary
About two years ago, I started building a music game called Discera . I got a prototype working, but didn’t have the time to turn it into the polished experience I wanted to put on the App Store. Recently, while looking for new challenges in my career, I picked it back up. One of the biggest changes was rethinking the UX. I redesigned it around a Cover Flow-inspired interface, as a little homage to the iPod era. That redesign made a bigger difference to the game experience than I expected, and helped bring the whole thing together. Earlier this month, I finally launched it. The concept is simple: listen to a song and place it on a timeline based on when you think it was released. Does it belong before, after, or between the tracks you’ve already placed? As the timeline grows, those decisions get harder. You can play with friends or solo, but it's most fun when others are involved. I’ve put a lot of care into the curation, too, with handpicked song packs built around different themes, genres, and regions. The music selection and the nostalgic interface are both a big part of what I wanted Discera to feel like. It’s been a long journey from that first prototype to something I can share. I’ve had a lot of fun with it, and I hope other people will too. Discera on the App Store Full song playback requires an Apple Music subscription and an internet connection. If you give it a try, I’d love to hear what you think of the game and the design and if you have any suggestions. submitted by /u/Present_Juggernaut60 [link] [comments]
