Hey r/SideProject I'm Grant, a recent CS grad from Bulgaria. This is my first public product, and I've been building it for the past few months. The problem: my AI chats had real work in them (code, research, notes) and no good way to keep them. Copy-paste breaks the formatting, and most export tools scrape the page, so they miss messages on long chats. What AIExporter does: - 9 formats: PDF, Word, HTML, Markdown, TXT, JSON, CSV, Excel, or one long image of the chat - Save to GitHub, Notion or Google Docs instead of downloading - Bulk save: pick many chats with search and date filters, get one ZIP - Automatic backup: every hour, day or week, new and changed chats go to a folder or a private GitHub repo - Keeps the good stuff: code highlighting, tables, math (real editable equations in Word), images, sources as footnotes, and optionally the AI's thinking and the model name - Continue in another AI: move a chat from ChatGPT to Claude (or any other) in one click - Cite it in APA, MLA or Chicago - Open your official ChatGPT/Claude data export ZIP, search it, and turn any chat into a file Works on 15 sites: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Mistral Le Chat, Meta AI, Kimi, Doubao, Qwen, Qianwen, Tencent Yuanbao and Z.ai. Privacy: no server, no account, no analytics. Everything happens in your browser. For the devs: TypeScript + Vite + Manifest V3. Instead of scraping the page, it reads each site's own conversation API (13 of the 15 sites), so long chats and edited/regenerated branches come out complete and in order. PDFs embed fonts for 20+ scripts with HarfBuzz shaping, so Arabic, Hindi, Chinese and others render correctly. Free, with public code (source-available, PolyForm Noncommercial). UI in 13 languages.
