Original Summary
I’ve heard “sell the solution, not the tool” for years. I even repeated it myself. But honestly? I only really understood it recently. Think about a good doctor. They don’t walk in and say, “Here are the 40 medicines we stock, which one would you like?” They listen first. They ask where it hurts, how long it’s been going on, what you’ve already tried. Then they work out a way for you to get better. The medicine is just part of that. For a long time, I was doing the opposite. My pitches were all about what we built: features, dashboards, integrations. I was proud of the product, so I led with it. And people nodded politely… and moved on. So I changed one thing. I stopped talking about what we have and started asking about what’s blocking them. Of course, it depends on the niche. Some customers just need a coffee ☕, a single feature that fixes the whole problem. Others need the full meal 🍽️, a bunch of features working together. But either way, the conversation is no longer “here’s our menu.” It’s “here’s your challenge, here’s what we have, let’s figure out how to solve it together.” That’s become my one rule: Resolving Together. 🤝 And the difference has been real. Same product. Different conversation. If you’re a founder still leading with your feature list, try leading with their problem instead. Your customers aren’t looking for software. They’re looking for a partner who’ll help them fix what’s broken. Has anyone else had this “I knew it, but now I get it” moment? 👇 #Founders #SAAS submitted by /u/kannansamp [link] [comments]
