Original Summary
Our engineer built a CPQ for us and it has been working fine for the last 2 years. But now our SaaS business has started to pick up and we have multiple plans, discounts, approvals and renewals. we also have a pile of exceptions that have added up over time. This has led to instances where a discount field quietly bypasses half the logic. Also every pricing change has to go back to the engineering backlog and sales ops are spending more time keeping the quoting system alive instead of improving the process. St this point we are asking ourselves whether maintaining it is really cheaper than replacing it. For anyone who decided to replace their homegrown CPQ what was the breaking point and was it worth it? And if you kept yours on purpose, i would also like to hear that case too bc buying isn't automatically the right answer. submitted by /u/BelinoDhugaa23 [link] [comments]
