Original Summary

I'm the dev behind Planet Proxy, a VPN app for Android. We just pushed a big store-listing cleanup this week, so this felt like the right moment to actually post about it. What it is A WireGuard-based VPN. Tap connect, you're on. No account, no email, no bandwidth or time limits on the free tier. Premium adds more server locations and priority speeds. Decisions we made and why WireGuard only, no OpenVPN fallback. Smaller codebase, connects in under a second, and it survives WiFi <-> mobile handoffs without dropping. Cost: a few very old routers/networks don't like UDP, and we get support emails about it. No sign-up. Every email we store is something we'd have to protect. So we don't store one. It also means we can't do password resets, because there's nothing to reset. Kill switch on by default. If the tunnel drops, traffic stops until it's back. A few users find this annoying when their signal is bad. We kept it anyway. Split tunneling. Banking apps sometimes refuse VPN traffic; you can exclude them. Plain-language privacy policy. https://www.planet-proxy.com/privacy-policy - no logs of what you browse, and we say exactly what we do collect. What went wrong Our ANR rate crept over Google's threshold on some devices and Play quietly demoted us in search. If you ship a VpnService app: never touch the tunnel on the main thread, even for "quick" status checks. We're fixing that now. Ask If you try it and it fails to connect, or speeds are bad on your carrier, please tell me the country + carrier. That's the single most useful thing for us.
