Original Summary
Launched Share Artifacts on Product Hunt and Peerlist today. I'm a solo founder; the product lets people create and share HTML presentations and reports with the AI agent they already use. Spent time getting the demo, screenshots and profiles ready. Then the launch-day emails started arriving: Three emails from the same service offering Product Hunt upvotes. An uptime-monitoring pitch about keeping my links working during launch week. A startup directory offering a free listing and backlink. A YouTube collaboration pitch offering a tutorial, review or sponsored video. Six messages, four senders. One of the vote pitches literally quoted $1 per upvote. So I tweeted: "My product hunt launch sold me more products than i sold my product 🤪." A practical difference I ran into: my Product Hunt launch started at 3:01 a.m. Eastern because its scheduler used midnight Pacific. Peerlist needed the founder profile, photo and work-email verification ready, and I launched the existing project at 10 a.m. Eastern for this week's Launchpad. If you're doing both, get the profile requirements sorted before launch day. It's still day one, so I don't have enough data to compare which brings actual users. The unexpected part was how quickly launching made me a prospect for everyone else's product. Some offers might be useful, but they aren't customer interest. For people who've launched on Product Hunt or Peerlist: did you get people actually using what you built, or mostly other founders and services pitching you? submitted by /u/Emotional_Relation69 [link] [comments]
