Original Summary

I’ve been building a Shopify tool to deal with messy supplier files and inventory receiving. In my development store, everything was looking pretty good. CSV, Excel, PDF imports. SKU matching. Partial deliveries. Duplicate receipt protection. I’d spent a lot of time thinking through everything that could go wrong. Then I shared what I’d built on Reddit. Someone asked, Have you actually tested it with a real merchant yet? Nope. I’ve tested the workflows, but not with an actual store throwing years of messy supplier files at me. A few other people pointed out things I hadn’t properly solved either. What if the original supplier file is needed later? What if someone needs to undo a bad inventory update? And it made me realise something. I’d started confusing working software with a validated product. They’re not the same thing. So my next milestone isn’t another feature. It’s getting one real store to show me their messiest supplier file and seeing what actually breaks. What’s one question someone asked that completely changed how you looked at your project? submitted by /u/Reasonable_Major_458 [link] [comments]
