I'm Davide, from Italy, and this is my side project. I drove a VW T-Roc and logged every trip with We Connect Go and the official DataPlug. Then Volkswagen shut the service down, and my trips went with it. So I wrote my own app. It talks to the car through a cheap ELM327 OBD2 adapter, like the ones Veepeak or Vgate sell. It shows fault codes in plain words, fuel consumption, engine health and every trip on a map. Consumption is measured where the car reports it and estimated where it doesn't. No account. How it's built: Flutter, with SQLite on the phone. Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi adapters. The hard part is the cars, not the screens. Every brand answers a little differently, some adapters skip answers, and hybrids go quiet on electric. New in the iPhone update out today: Custom PIDs with command, formula and unit, tested on the connected car. Minimum, average and maximum of your PIDs on every trip, and PID lists from a CSV file. Trip start and trip end can go to your own Home Assistant. It's off by default. Start/Stop no longer splits a trip in two. Walking away from the parked car no longer wakes it up.
