Original Summary
ADHD + a to-do list with 47 items on it = me staring at the wall for three hours. Not doing the tasks. Not doing anything else either. Just... frozen. I tried every productivity app out there. They all failed the same way: they showed me the entire list and asked my broken executive function to prioritize it. The decision was the paralysis, not the doing. So I built the thing I actually needed: Kingdom. Instead of facing the full list, you draw 2–4 task cards for the day — like pulling cards from a deck. Each card is tagged DO, GROW, or MAINTAIN. You do what's on the cards, and each finished card earns +10 gold. If a card makes you want to hide under a blanket, you redraw it — 3 redraws a day, zero guilt. There's a My Cards section for your weirdly specific tasks that don't fit anyone else's template. The whole mechanic is one principle: shrink the visible list until starting feels harmless. Full disclosure since this is my own thing: it's a web app, 7-day free trial, then $9.99/month. TRY THE KINGDOM NOW Two things I learned building it: (1) the mechanic that unfreezes me is "something else picks" — every feature that added decisions back in made it worse, so I kept cutting; (2) Flutter web loading screens will humble you — I shipped a version that hung on the spinner and had to fix the deploy before telling anyone it existed. Would genuinely love feedback on: does the card-draw mechanic click for you, or is it confusing on first open? And is 7 days enough trial to judge an app like this? submitted by /u/Old-Lingonberry-9196 [link] [comments]
