Original Summary
I run a small analytics SaaS. Today I wrote down 10 questions a customer might ask an AI assistant before buying, stuff like "best cookieless analytics", "alternatives to Plausible", "how to see which AI crawlers read my site". Then I ran all of them through the Perplexity API and logged the answers and the sources behind them. Results: - Mentioned in 0 of 10 answers. - Plausible is named in 5, Fathom and Matomo in 4. - When I ask what my own product is, the answer describes a different company. Turns out there are five products with the same name as mine. Fun day. The useful part was the sources. Every answer is built from 5-8 pages, and most of them are "best X tools" list posts. I'm in none of them. So the to-do list kind of wrote itself. It's not "do more SEO", it's "get onto these 13 specific pages". I'm going to rerun the same questions every day and see if anything moves. Has anyone here actually gotten into AI answers on purpose? What moved it for you? submitted by /u/No_Advertising2536 [link] [comments]
