Original Summary
Hey r/SideProject — building in public, warts and all. Yesterday I posted my landing page on r/roastmystartup and got exactly what I asked for: 3 comments, zero mercy, all three pointing at real problems: My data method is a proxy. I query the official APIs of each AI engine — that's a sample, not exactly what a user sees inside the ChatGPT app. Fair, and now stated plainly in the FAQ. I wrote "FAQ schema" like it's 2021. Google killed FAQ rich results in 2023. The real point is structured Q&A that AI engines can cite — rewriting that section today. One scan is noise. Variance across runs is real, so the product reports mention rates across multiple runs with prompts public. No black-box scores. (I replied to all three as OP, honestly — happy to link the thread.) The page: https://mentionmap.tech — MentionMap, a $15/mo tracker for whether ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini / Perplexity mention your brand. Built for bloggers and small sites; enterprise tools charge $99+ and don't care about this segment. What I'm validating before writing a line of product code: 50 waitlist emails in 2 weeks (clock started Saturday). Daily honest updates, pass or fail. Update: the roast thread already turned two readers into waitlist signups — brutal honesty seems to convert. Roast v2: is the value prop clear now? As a blogger, would you leave an email? submitted by /u/carvenski870 [link] [comments]
