Original Summary
Kids' drawings end up on the fridge and then in a drawer. Meta's Animated Drawings showed they can be brought to life, but it uploads the drawing to their servers. I wanted the same magic without a drawing ever leaving the phone, so I built it. You take a photo of a drawing, the app cuts out the figure, finds a skeleton by itself and then it waves, walks, jumps and dances. On a little stage, or in AR on your table. You can put several drawings together and record a video for Grandma. The part I'm happiest with: it all runs on the phone. No account, no server, nothing uploaded. The cutout is classic image processing (no generative AI), the skeleton comes from thinning the shape, and the drawing is skinned to it and drawn with Metal. It's free, with no ads. There's an optional $0.99 Supporter purchase that only adds app icons and a silly little game. iPhone and iPad, 7 languages: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6820002786 I'd love to hear where it breaks. Drawings with arms that touch the body are the hardest, and I want more of them. submitted by /u/petertheill [link] [comments]
