Original Summary
Built an iPhone app for resellers who sell in person, and Tap to Pay just went live I'm a reseller and I made Sourcerer because I was tired of juggling a mileage app, a spreadsheet, and a card reader I kept forgetting to charge. Posting here in case it solves the same headaches for someone else. The thing that just shipped: Tap to Pay on iPhone. If you sell at flea markets, pop-ups, or vintage shows, a buyer can tap their card or phone on the back of your iPhone and you're done. No reader, no dongle, no extra hardware to lose. It runs through Stripe, so the money lands in your own Stripe account at normal card-present rates. iPad sellers can pair a Stripe Bluetooth reader instead. Other problems it's meant to fix: - Finding places to source. The map shows thrift stores, estate sales, and similar spots around you, nationwide. Tap a pin for hours and photos, then start a route to Apple or Google Maps with every stop in order. - Mileage you forget to log. Start a trip, add stops as you shop, and the miles get tracked for tax time. Gas gets split across whatever you bought that day. - Knowing what you actually made. Each item has its cost, what it sold for, and a real profit number with gas and fees baked in. Refunds restore the item instead of making you re-enter it. - Vendor sales with more than one item. Ring up a multi-item sale, generate an invoice, take the card right there. Honest caveats: iPhone only for now, and the app itself is a subscription after a 7 day free trial ($10/month or $100/year). Card processing fees go to Stripe, not me. Most of what's in the app came from people complaining about it. submitted by /u/Inchardware [link] [comments]
